This Fire Safety for Care Homes training course teaches care home workers how to uphold fire safety measures and provide support to help vulnerable residents evacuate safely. It helps you comply with fire safety law and keep all your residents safe from harm.

Those in residential care may not be able to evacuate safely on their own, particularly those with mobility issues and conditions that affect their understanding. This course teaches you what fire safety arrangements should be in place in a care home to prevent fires from starting and to enable safe evacuation. These procedures ensure both residents and staff can evacuate with assistance, or on their own, safely.

This Fire Safety for Care Homes course is designed for people in senior positions in care homes, including owners, supervisors, and managers, but is suitable for anyone who works in a care setting. It teaches the learner what fire safety measures should be in place in care homes to minimise fire risks and assist vulnerable residents if they need to evacuate. Anyone at any level can take the course, as it provides a general understanding of fire safety before covering specific care home accommodations.

The course is not suitable for owners of, or those working in, sheltered accommodations (where care is not provided), including healthcare treatment premises (such as hospitals) and single private dwellings that provide out-posted nursing care.

Looking to appoint a designated fire warden/fire marshal? Our Fire Warden (Fire Marshal) training course provides learners with the correct knowledge to prevent fire and enable safe evacuations.
