Module 1: Introduction

Key definitions, defining minute taking, the importance of minute taking, the role of the minute taker, the role of the chairperson and top tips.

Module 2: Before the Meeting

The agenda, agenda points, agenda items, reading the agenda, agenda templates, top tips, research, equipment, arranging for other equipment, documents and further considerations.

Module 3: During the Meeting

Before the meeting begins, taking notes in the meeting, top tips, team meeting video exercise and feedback, action points and recording motions.

Module 4: After the Meeting

Writing the minutes, what to include, writing style, agenda items, action points, key sections, top tips, distributing the final minutes, filing and sorting the minutes and further resources.

The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked 15 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%. The answers are marked automatically, so you will instantly know whether you have passed. If you don't pass, don't worry! You can take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.
